Recipe We Love :: Homemade Milano Cookies
Yes, you read that right. HOMEMADE milano cookies. Could there be a better cookie? We don't think so.
Homemade Milano Cookies
Serves: about 3 dozen cookies
• 12 tablespoons (170grams/ 6 oz) unsalted butter, softened
• 2 1/2 cups (312.5 grams/ 11.02 oz) powdered sugar
• 7/8 cup egg whites (from about 6 eggs)
• 2 tablespoons vanilla extract
• 2 tablespoons lemon extract
• 1 1/2 cups (187.5grams/ 6.61 oz) all purpose flour (I used rice flour mix, with 1/2 t xanthan gum)
• Cookie filling, recipe follows

• 8 ounces semisweet chocolate, chopped (I used dark chocolate)
• 1 orange, zested (I used 1 T triple sec)

Ingredients:
- 1 baguette
- 8 oz. goat cheese
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/2 cup chopped toasted walnuts, pecan or hazelnuts (*you can chop or leave larger, or a bit of both)
- 1/2 tablespoon finely chopped fresh rosemary

6 oz raw almonds
6 oz raw pecans
6 oz raw walnuts
4 tbsp unsalted butter
1 1/2 tbsp honey
1/2 tsp chili powder
1/4 tsp smoked paprika

1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
1 tsp Thai fish sauce

Recipe We Love: Cinnamon Roll Recipe
With guests coming in and out during the holidays, it's always nice to have a sweet treat that everyone enjoys. And this delicious Cinnamon Roll recipe from Annie Eats is too good not to share!
Cinnamon Roll Recipe
Ingredients:6 ½ tbsp. granulated sugar
1 tsp. salt
5 ½ tbsp. unsalted butter or margarine
1 large egg, slightly beaten
1 tsp. lemon extract or 1 tsp. grated lemon zest
3 ½ cups unbleached bread or all-purpose flour
2 tsp. instant (rapid rise) yeast
1 1/8 to 1 ¼ cups whole milk or buttermilk, at room temperature
For the filling:
6 ½ tbsp. granulated sugar
1 ½ tsp. ground cinnamon
other spices to taste (ginger, cardamom, allspice, etc.)
For the white fondant glaze:
4 cups powdered sugar
1 tsp. lemon or orange extract
6 tbsp. to ½ cup warm milk
