Friday Favorites

What a week!  Has your spring gotten off to the crazy start that mine has?

I'm in the thick of the final layout approvals for my next book: Monograms for the Home!  Can't wait to share it with you!  In the meantime, here is a little sneak peek:

Monogram Mania is going on over at my favorite shopping site Moda Operandi!

Did you know that the Red Cross has a great app to keep you safe during this crazy weather season?

Obsessed with the great neutrals in this make-up palette.

This lipstick is perfect!

My toddler daughter has been living in these moccasins.  So sweet on her fat little feet!

And Tory Burch does it again!  I ordered these shoes to pair with my pin stripe dresses or jeans this spring.

Update on my One Room Challenge!  The Gray Malin piece, Two Cowboys, that was my inspiration is now available on One Kings Lane!

One Room Challenge: Week 2 - Inspiration

Gray Malin - Two Cowboys

I've been looking for inspiration for my One Room Challenge project, the dining room at White Oaks Ranch, and it hit me while working on a non-profit project.  My sisters and I are co-chairing the MTV ReDefine fundraiser which takes place this Friday.  It is an art auction at the Goss Michael Foundation and on-line at Paddle 8.  When I saw this piece in the auction line-up,  Two Cowboys by Gray Malin, I had found my inspiration!
A little bit Cowboy + a little bit Chic!

How am I going to translate this into a dining room?

Well, I don't know exactly but I'm excited to try.  I do know that I am going to start with this amazing wallpaper from Brett Design.

This is a quick snap I took at the EC Dicken Showroom in Dallas for my Instagram Feed a few months ago but I just couldn't get over the paper!  When something sticks like that, I think you need to find a place for it!  I think I basically have the paper ordered but I am just waiting for confirmation that we can get it in time for our challenge!

Right now the room has a chair-rail all the way around it so I need to have that removed and have the walls prepared for the paper.  I'm so enchanted by the paper that it is worth it I think!

I also know that I am going to keep the antler chandelier.  I think it will be a fun contradiction to the modern paper.

I got a quote to re-cover the existing chairs but I find them a bit bulky so I'm still toying around with the idea finding something new.

What do you think?

To see the rest of the art in the MTV ReDefine auction, check out  Paddle 8!

Don't forget to check out the progress that the other nineteen bloggers are making!  I'm excited to follow along on everyone's journey!
