Tiny Toes!

Remember these little faux-Valentino shoes that Millie wore to our Easter Egg Hunt this year?  They are her favorites!  I'm jumping for joy because I just found them in additional colors on sale for $8.99!

Highlights from Our Annual Easter Egg Hunt

This isn't our exact invitation but it is the design that we used from the amazing LoraLee Lewis.  She has the most charming invitations for all occasions and this is the third event we have used her designs for.
The entrance to White Oaks Ranch, the site of our annual Easter Egg Hunt!
I found these huge Bunny Topiaries in the window display at Pottery Barn and begged the store manager to sell them to me!  They are "faux" but look very real!  It was a great spot for a family photo opp!
The tables were set with  orange and pink cloths and covered with an embroidered bunny and chicken overlay that inspired our color scheme.  I chose to use potted azaleas in baskets for the centerpieces because we had two dates for the event - the first try and the rain date! I needed flowers that would stay nice until the second round!

"Rabbit Food" (baby carrots) and "Bunny Tails" (white cheddar puffs) were put out in small galvanized buckets on the children's tables.  The winds were strong so we had to line the bottom of the buckets with rocks to weigh the tablecloths down.  Calligraphy by Halo Calligraphy.
My little Millie Stuart in her Easter bubble from Southern Living's collection for Smocked Auctions and her bonnet from The Beaufort Bonnet Company.

My son, JR, in his Southern Living for Smocked Auctions shirt.
My son and nephew enjoying the piglets in the petting zoo!
It was set up under an oak tree and was obviously a big hit!
My darling nephew, Tobin, enjoying the set up at the Children's Table!
My father, sister, and mother were still smiling even though I put them to work on the set up!
There were lots of monograms and bonnets from The Beaufort Bonnet Co. around!
When the time was right, the Easter Bunny gathered the children up on the steps so that we could be the hunt started after prayer and our annual tradition of asking someone special to our children to read the Easter Story to our guests.

My friend Kimberly Chandler led our guests in a beautiful prayer....
and our son's teacher read the Easter Story to a captivated audience.
Then it was time to hunt!  The Easter Bunny led the eager children to the front of the house to start the hunt!

It was a blast and I can't wait to do it again next year!

I hope you and your family have a blessed Easter!

Friday Favorites: First Day of Spring!

We have been prepping for our annual Easter Egg Hunt and I couldn't wait to share these stunning Azaleas with you!  More photos of the centerpieces to come!  For details from our previous hunts, click here!

The perfect little spring/summer dress. Just ordered it and I have a feeling like it will be the one I throw on all the time!

Speaking of Egg Hunts, have your ordered your little one a bonnet yet?

This bathing suit is sold out everywhere but you can get it with this link!

Love this article about the different ways that people see humor!

These are my favorite evening bags ever!

I'm going to pester you about buying tickets for MTV ReDefine Event or Pre-party because my sisters and I have been working hard on it as co-chairs!  I hope you will join us!

A look back at some of our Easter Egg Hunts

Hi there!  Sorry that I have been gone so long.  I'm keeping busy with baby but happy to be back at my blog again.

We are back at work on our annual Easter Egg Hunt and, now that my sister has a baby too, she is helping me with the plans!

Here is a little look back at some of our past tips on video.  Enjoy and please let me know what you do to celebrate Easter.

Let the games begin!

I always advise against filling eggs with melt-prone candy.

Inspiration Board :: Easter Activities

When it comes to Easter activities, you can never have too many options to keep the little ones entertained!

Colored sand boxes are always a hit.

We invited some furry friends, too!

And of course, the Easter bunny made an appearance!

Pony Rides were a new activity last year!

Before the egg hunt begins, it's a tradition to have a good friend read the Easter story. This is a great way to gather everyone together one last time before the real festivities begin!

Inspiration Board :: Easter Menu

It's no secret that one of the best parts about our Easter Egg Hunt is getting to enjoy all the yummy sweets and treats. A few of last year's menu items included peep cupcakes, pb&j sandwiches and macaroons. To drink, we served Southern Sangria and Lavender Champagne to the adults, and had Rosemary Lemonade and Sweet Tea for everyone to enjoy. See drink recipes below.

Rabbit food! Our take on a crudite plate.

We used this old horse trough to serve grab-and-go sodas.

Southern Sangria, and Lavender Champagne for the adults!

Southern Sangria : What you'll need
(Makes 1 Pitcher)
- 1 bottle of white wine
-1/2 litre of club soda
-1/2 cup agave
-1 lemon
-1 peach, sliced
-mint sprigs for garnish

Lavender Champagne : What you'll need
-Chilled champagne or sparkling wine
-1/2 cup of sugar
-1/2 cup of water
-1 tablespoon of dried lavender

Rosemary makes the perfect garnish to lemonade.

Adding lots of limes and lemons to your Sweet Tea will give amazing flavor!
