Do you have guests coming to town next week? Maybe you have family and friends visiting over the holidays. Here are my four favorite little tricks for getting your guest room ready.
1. Place a candle in the room! One of my favorites is Lavender Mint by Niven Morgan. It is fresh and relaxing and makes the room feel welcoming. Why not place a little set of monogrammed matches next to it so that your guests can easily light the candle and enjoy it!
2. There is nothing like a new set of clean white sheets. I love Peacock Alley for it's luxurious look and feel. Of course I like this set in Blue and White!
3. Give your guests a key to your home on a key ring that can't get lost, like the O ring! It will give them the freedom to come and go as they please and explore your city on their own.
4. Speaking of exploring, I'm going to leave the November issue of Southern Living Magazine, where I am Editor-at-Large, in the guest room! It is a great city guide with details on all of the new places to eat, shop and explore. If you don't live in Dallas you should make a list of your own! We used to keep the guide that we made for our wedding out-of-towners laminated in the guest room for our visitors. It is a great way to empower them to get out and explore on their own!
