Packing for London!

I'm so excited to be off for a wedding in London this summer!  Can't wait!

Our son is joining us but we are leaving the rest of the crew at home.  We can't wait to show him around this magical city!

But, the long flights are never easy so I've started packing my carry-on bag already!

Hermes Cashmere Scarf - I never get on a plane with out one.
Fuji Instax Mini 90 Neo Classic Camera - To capture all of the great moments along the way.
Chloe Scalloped Ballet Flats - So comfy it is like wearing slippers.
The Royal We - A little light reading about a royal couple similar to London's most famous!
The London Activity Book: With Palaces, Puzzles and Pictures to Colour - A little bit educational and a whole lot of fun for my son.
Tabitha Simmons Clutch - I always stick a small easy clutch inside of my larger tote so that I have every type of bag I will need on the trip.
Big Prada Sunglasses - totally necessary upon landing to cover my dark circles!
The Cure Sheer Eye by Natura Bisse - I put it on as we take off and again at landing.  Love that it is soothing and covers up!
Hair Ties - These are great because they don't leave a crease.
Smythson Passport Case - Almost lost my passport on our Anniversary Trip so I'm ordering this bright passport cover for this one!
Rochas Tote - Love that this gives me enough room for my on-board goodies but is polished enough to carry around London as well.

Moving Day!

I love to move.  I think I might be the only one on the planet but I do!  I love the new opportunities to arrange furniture, hang pictures and make a new home for loved ones.

The key to a great move is having everything on hand and a good attitude so when a friend is facing a moving day, I like to start it out right for them with a bag full of all of the things they might need.

When my friend Meredith was moving a few weeks ago, I put this tote together for her.  Of course, I asked Halo Studio Gifts to add the digits of their new address to it.

Y'all....this is genius:

It's called a Mimish and it can hold all of those stuffed animals that don't have a real place to call home for you.  Then the kids can enjoy it as a bean bag chair!

So smart.  Why didn't I think of that?

My darling friend Julie Gates, who was the host of the Gene and Julie show for years (CBS Radio - 103.7) always used to chat with me about great ways to store stuffed animals.  There never was a perfect answer for either of us but we didn't know about the Mimish then!

My son piles his "pets" into an old Elephant Saddle that belonged to my father-in-law.  He loves to sit in it and snuggle or read but it is enormous and takes up half of the playroom.  You can see a picture of it in this DMoms Feature from a few years ago.  As we purge and prepare for our move, I think the Mimish is the perfect amount of space to allocate to our stuffed animals.  I'll order one for him and let him fill it up to move with us!
