I love a good challenge!
When one of my favorite children's clothing brands, The Proper Peony, challenged me to find a room interior that co-ordinated with one of their precious designs, I accepted immediately! I knew exactly what I wanted to match up too!
When I dress my little Millie Stuart up in her Proper Peony looks, whether the scalloped tulip bubbles or the classic monogram collection, I get stopped on the street and asked where these darling little looks come from. They are classic and elegant with a darling little twist and the quality is amazing. You know how hard a little one can be on clothing and each of her Proper Peony looks have stayed so nice after so many washes.
And if you follow my blog you know that I have an obsession with monograms so of course I added a monogram and a pair of birds to the collar of the tulip bubble from The Proper Peony.
Now to the interior design....
Every room in our home has a bird of some sort. My obsession started when my husband and I gave out a pair of silver birds as the parting favors to the guests at our wedding. Our daughter's nursery is no exception.
When I learned that I was having a girl, I immediately called for sample of Mary McDonald's Chinois Palais Blush Conch Fabric for Schumacher. I knew this would be my starting point! It had everything I hoped for....a pale pale blush palate, birds, and a soft sweet whimsical feeling.
I added a few additional fabrics in to the mix:
this amazing Bargello,
this durable outdoor "velvet" that can be washed as a slipcover for our glider
and finished them all off with this wide Schumacher Labyrinth Tape in Platinum.
The sweet pillow with her birthdate and name was a gift from our friends Niven Morgan and Shelby Wagner. Isn't it precious?
I also love the way the scallop collar of the tulip bubble matches the scallop in the Leontine Linen bed cover!
I added a few accent pillows like vintage Bargello needlepoints and a sweet BeBe embroidered pillow that I had made for her bassinet from an antique French Linen.
So what do you think? Do you like my match? I hope so because we are doing a Proper Peony giveaway on my Instagram Feed! Rush on over to check it out and tag a friend for more chances to win!
Everything about this image is divine! The room is gorgeous and that outfit is stunning!
ReplyDeleteThis room/outift/little lady is simply gorgeous! Can you please share where the daybed is from? Thank you so much!
ReplyDeleteThanks for asking! I actually designed the daybed and had my upholsterer build it. We based it on the dimensions for a twin bed. I'm hoping she can move to that for a little bit after she grows out of the crib. The problem was that when he built it, it was too wide to fit thru her bedroom door so he had to take it apart and re-assemble!
DeleteI'm so glad I came across your blog! Can I have the whole room delivered, it's just amazing?!? Just kidding ;) Can you share where the flooring is from? Is it a rug or carpet? Thanks!!
ReplyDeleteSo Sweet! Thank you! It is from Patterson Flynn and Martin Carpets. I ordered it as a rug but they also do wall to wall carpeting. They have fantastic patterns and colors!
DeleteWould you mind sharing what trim color you went with for the Leontine coverlet? I love how it seems to coordinate perfects with the Garden of Persia fabric. Leontine Linens provides my favorite bed linens and I know we'll want to use the same for our future children! The room is absolutely gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThanks for asking! Sorry it took me so long to find the color but I finally got it! Ballet Italian Poplin is the name and it is a great complement to Garden of Persia.
DeleteThank you so much! Sorry to keep pestering you with questions, but do you remember where you got the Greek key trimmed pillow? That blush tape is wonderful
ReplyDeleteAnd I haven't been able to find anything similar.
Love it!! What color did you use on the wall and trim?
