One Room Challenge - Week 3 - The Plan

I can't even believe that we are on week three!!!!  Y'aaaaalllllll - I'm stressed!
I have a lot of work to do!  The plan for the living room at the ranch has taken a few turns.  See below....

But here is the plan...
Here is my dream scheme sample pile.  I have a few options so I need y'all to chime in here and give me your opinion...

I had to choose between these two sofa styles.   I ended up with the one below because I like the high back. Do you?  It felt more english and cozy and comfy to me.

Did I make the right choice?  It is going to be upholstered in this Ralph Lauren Windsor Chalk Stripe and I'm going to pray it turns out ok.  I guess that there isn't anything we can do about it now so I hope you like it!

Now, in my sample pile above, I had a bunch of red accents pulled but then I stumbled upon this green leather chair and ottoman that make my heart sing!  What do you think?  Green accents with the black, almond and white instead?  It matches the shutters and rocking chairs on the house too!

I'm also having two English High Back chairs covered in Alessandra Branca for Schumacher's Alexander Tartan in Griege.

The carpet is this fabulous Woolston Plaid in Refined Khaki  by Karastan which I am super excited about.  I'm having bound like a rug with a black border and I think it will be fun mix with all of the other crazy stripes, checks, plaids and tartans we have working in this room.  If you are interested in a  new carpet, this is the time to order it!  They have a huge Fall sale going on!

It kind of pulls the green in from the shutters on the house right?  Ohhhhh....and the sample is available off the floor at a great price!  I think it is steering me this direection.  What do you think?  Red accents?  Green accents? I'm super indecisive.

Super excited about all of the silver trophy cups I am finding on-line since I haven't had a minute to get out and hunt for them.  Isn't this set of seven from One Kings Lane great?

One Kings Lane is keeping me up at night - I'm addicted!  I found these great horse pictures and I'm sending them off the Framebridge - so easy - I love it!

Oh, and did I tell you that we can't upholster the walls anymore?  Uhhhhh huh!  I'm so bummed because my whole entire plan was based on the drama of walking in the checkered room!  It is just not a good idea with all of the ranch dust and critters up there to have upholstered walls. Reality check for me.  Oh well.....

And thanks to one of your comments last week, I found a club fender that can be delivered on time!  This is why I just love sharing this journey with you.  Thanks for chiming in!  I ordered it with a black leather seat.  Can't wait for evenings by the fire perched on this!

So please keep following along on my adventure!  I need your comments and thoughts to keep coming!

Don't forget to check in on all of the other nineteen bloggers who are playing a part in the challenge too!

  3. Oh you have to go with that gorgeous green chair and ottoman! I love black/red/khaki but the green with black is such a fresh look. I think it is perfect for a ranch house. Love your Karastan rug selection too and can't wait to see the final room.
