I've Accepted the One Room Challenge!

I've been needing a little bit of motivation to get the design scheme at White Oaks Ranch in motion for quite some time.  If you follow my Pinterest Boards then you know I have been pinning and pinning and pinning and not taking any action!

Well, my motivation arrived in the form of challenge, The One Room Challenge!

I've joined a great group of 20 Bloggers and we can't wait to share our transformations with you.  The ORC was created by Linda of Calling It Home and it is a great way for you to get great design tips, and DIY ideas.  We will be sharing our process for transforming a room and answering lots of you questions!

Now, I'm going to need to keep checking in on me every Wednesday as I post about this project.  I'm sure I'll have questions and get stumped in places that I will need your opinion on!

Even though I need to tackle several rooms at the ranch, I'm going to go room by room for now as it the project has been feeling a bit overwhelming!  I'm starting with the dining room and I can't wait to start the journey.  I'll tell you more about the ranch in the coming weeks.  It is a special place to us and I can't wait to share it with you.

So....here we go!  A few "before" photos to show you what the room looks like now:

I find it super "blah" (no offense to the design trends of 1992 ;) which is a bummer because so many wonderful celebrations happen in this room!  It is should a room worthy of the moments shared in it.

I'll share my inspiration and more plans with you next week so please come back for more and, in the mean time, check out the other participating bloggers and their challenges:

I hope you will enjoy following along, maybe finding some new blogs to follow, and sharing your tips and advice when I come across a design dilemma!
